BASIC RULES 2/4

4.) Game rounds and actions:
Each round of the game is divided in two phases:
In the auction phase the Harbour Master picks the topmost card of anyone of the four stacks of game cards and sells it by hidden auction to the group of players (including himself). In the second phase of the round, the action phase, the players may do their actions.

Actions are:
- positioning of ships
- playing a takeover card
- players exchanging resources
- construction of a city or a machine
- buying a resource chip from the bank with the card “Forum”

Played game cards are to be removed from the game by putting them back into the bank. The action phase ends when all players have finished their desired actions.

5.) Territories:
Lemuria
Territory Card
A territory may consist of one or several land stones. Each land stone has a value of 1 point at the end of the game.

After purchase of a territory card mark your territory on the game board with a claim marker in your colour.

Why and how to connect territories with each other:
At the end of the game players may add up only the points of their connected territories.

Territories with a common border and belonging to the same owner are naturally connected.

Others, separated from each other by the sea can be connected by placing one ship on each sea field between them.

6.) Ships:
To build a ship, take one chip of your colour from the bank and put it on any vacant sea field on the game board.
Each player may have 5 ships for free on the game board and buy additional ships from the bank for the price of 1 credit card of any value each.

Players may build any number of ships, but only to connect their territories with each other and must use the minimum number necessary. There can never be more than one ship on a sea field.

It is also allowed to move one’s ships anytime to any empty sea field on the board following the same rules.

Unused ships must be placed on the field “Harbour”.

Schiffsverbindung
Example 1: Connection by ship between two territories

In the example picture above the player with the colour red uses a chain of four ships to connect his territories „Titania“ (top right) and „Magna Mater“ (bottom left) with each other.

A ship connects all own territories bordering to the sea field it is placed on. Because ships connect only for their owners, the ships of one player may block another player from connecting his territories.

Seeblockade
Example 2: Naval Blockade

In the example above the ships of player Green (green ships) prevent player Red from building a chain of ships between “Titania” and “Magna Mater” as shown in example 1.

If several players intend to build or move ships at the same time, the Harbour Master decides which player may make his move first.
